Wajir sewer project

"We expected the new sewage system to be in place by the beginning of this year, but could not get funds to finish the project on time," Elmi told Sabahi. The project should be completed by next year, depending on availability of funds, he said."

The whole project was estimated to cost 1.5 billion shillings. Unfortunately we have only managed to raise less than 400 million shillings," he said. "The money is not enough to finish even phase one of the three-phase project."

Elmi said additional funding is expected to be allocated from the government's June budget.
