Rukia is a young, enthusiastic, development oriented lady with a slight physical disability. She is passionate about social work and empowering communities. With over 7 years' experience as a social worker. She has immense experience in community development & mobilization, public health, participation, civic education and advocacy. She has provided research support for several projects on rural communities and vulnerable groups including refugees, sick, and sex workers. All of which will be useful in her current role as ICT & E-Government which is a key driver of service delivery in the County.
Rukia is also the founding member of Northern Nomadic Disabled Persons' Organization and Annalena Trust Foundation and a member of Youth Advisory Panel to UNFPA and former Board of Director of National Council for Persons with Disabilities. Rukia is also a recipient of a presidential award for her exemplary work with persons with disabilities.
