ICT Department: Goals
- Harness ICT to drive socio-economic development initiatives, promote inclusivity, and address challenges such as poverty
- Formulate policies, regulations, and standards to govern the ICT sector, ensuring high-quality services and adherence to best practices.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance ICT infrastructure to support County Government operations and facilitate connectivity across the county.
- Drive the digital transformation agenda by implementing innovative ICT solutions to improve service delivery, efficiency, and transparency.
- Provide training and capacity-building programs to empower government staff and citizens with the necessary ICT skills and knowledge to leverage technology effectively.
- Establish robust data management frameworks and leverage data analytics to inform decision-making, enhance governance, and improve service delivery.
- Implement measures to protect ICT systems, data, and networks from cyber threats, ensuring the resilience of digital infrastructure against potential risks and vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, partners, and the private sector to leverage resources, expertise, and technologies in advancing the ICT agenda and achieving common goals for the benefit of the county’s residents.
- Promote innovation and support research and development initiatives to foster creativity, entrepreneurship, and the adoption of emerging technologies within Wajir County.
- Engage with the public through digital platforms, communication channels, and citizen feedback mechanisms to enhance transparency, accountability, and participation in governance processes.
