Wajir County News;
The Department of Roads and Transport in Wajir County has reaffirmed its commitment to improving service delivery to local residents through a major initiative aimed at empowering youth and enhancing access to essential services.
In a five-day outreach event hosted at the Huduma Centre, over 900 residents benefited from vital National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) services. These included:
660 people enrolled for smart driver’s licenses
92 new generation reflective number plates were issued
42 logbook transfers were completed
Replacement of lost or duplicate logbooks for several residents
This outreach is part of Governor HE FCPA Ahmed Abdullahi’s broader effort to bridge the accessibility gap, eliminating the need for residents to travel to Nairobi to access these services.
CEC Road Hon Issa Garore, who led the exercise, expressed gratitude to Governor Abdullahi for his continued support of youth empowerment initiatives. He highlighted the importance of such programs in creating opportunities for the youth and breaking down barriers to accessing essential services in Wajir County.
