Wajir County is preparing to host the Pastoralist Leadership Summit (PLS) from November 28th to 30th, drawing over 450 delegates, including all 14 governors from ASAL (Arid and Semi-Arid Lands) counties, key speakers, and assembly leadership.Ahead of the summit, a delegation from the Pastoralist Parliamentarian Group, led by Chairman Major Bashir Abdullahi, Member of Parliament for Mandera North, met with Wajir’s Deputy Governor and County Commissioner.
Their discussions focused on ensuring thorough preparations, addressing security concerns, and meeting logistical requirements to guarantee the summit’s success and benefit for the local community.The summit is set to offer a unique business opportunity for Wajir’s residents. It is expected to stimulate the local economy and showcase the region’s culture, hospitality, and investment potential.The Wajir County government, in collaboration with various stakeholders, is working diligently to prepare the town for the summit. Emphasis is placed on security, infrastructure, and hospitality to ensure a smooth and impactful event.
