WAJWASCO Aims to Enhance Operational Efficiency and Water Supply in Wajir Town.

1st Feb 2025,Wajir News;

The Wajir County Water and Sewerage Company (WAJWASCO) is intensifying its efforts to improve operational efficiency, particularly in light of recurring droughts and frequent borehole breakdowns. These improvements are also in preparation for the upcoming takeover of additional boreholes and the delivery of clean water to Wajir Town residents, as directed by the Governor on Jamhuri Day.

WAJWASCO is currently focusing on securing a reliable source of clean water while exploring effective methods to ensure it reaches households in Wajir Town. To support these initiatives, the company is also in the process of notifying private water vendors about the requirement to obtain a license from WAJWASCO. In partnership with the Department of Health, WAJWASCO is working to ensure stringent water quality control measures are in place.

Mr. Roble Subow, Managing Director of WAJWASCO.

In a statement during a recent meeting with WAJWASCO employees, Mr. Roble Subow, Managing Director of WAJWASCO, emphasized, “Our priority is to ensure that the residents of Wajir Town have consistent access to clean and safe water. We are taking proactive steps to improve the reliability of our water supply and are committed to working closely with all stakeholders, including private water vendors and the Department of Health, to maintain the highest water quality standards.”

WAJWASCO’s fully functional laboratory for water testing plays a crucial role in monitoring water quality. The company encourages the public to regularly test their water to ensure it meets safety standards.

“We urge residents to take advantage of our water testing services to ensure their water is safe for consumption,” Mr. Subow added. “By working together, we can ensure a healthier and more sustainable water supply for all.”
